I thought some major component of my computer died. Opened the case up, and the CPU’s heat sink was completely clogged with dust. If you ever want to clean out a computer, I recommend using the hose attachment of your vacuum cleaner, with the brush attachment, if you have one. The compressed air in a can just blows the dust all around your house. A vacuum actually removes the dust. If you have animals in the house, the problem is even worse. Rabbit hair is very light and gets easily sucked into the computer. If you must use compressed air, you can use ‘shop air’ at 100PSI that is often used to power air powered tool. Just don’t go ape sh*t and blow off some of the capacitors.
After cleaning of the heat sink, the computer is running good as new. Just a few hours away from getting away. It should be fun, and I would love one complete night of sleep.
Geneva
Went to Geneva, IL yesterday and came back this afternoon. It was our first night away from Glenn.
The hotel was nice. If you ever want to see the cleanest hotel room, go to Country Inns by Carlton. Never seen a more spotless room.
Took some photos of the Fox river while we were there and of a windmill there too. When we re-visit, I think we will try a picnic at the windmill.
It was pretty relaxing, Glenn was not too bad when we were gone.
