Social (in)Security

I wish the Bush administration would stop saying the sky is falling, and SS is bankrupt.  This is a lie, plain and simple.  At the current rates, it can pay 100% of the benfits until 2042.  Doesn’t sound like much of a crisis to me.  After that, they can pay over 70% for just about forever.  This is with the current system, with NO CHANGES!
To ‘fix’ Social Security, raise takes slightly, remove the +$90,000 income loophole, and stop stealing fron the trust fund to pay for the nation deficit.  That’s it.  Fixed.
Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out.  That moron of a President it trying to drive this country into the ground.
Something for Bush to think about from the founder of the GOP

I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts.

DVD Burners and lying liars.

About half way through writing a quick tutorial of DVD ripping/shrinking/burning.
With the president and his cabinet, when are they ever going to call these liars liars?  They lie about everything!

Social Security, it will be backrupt in 2042, well, that is a plain lie.

Amtrak, cutting money will create competition, well, it will just bankrupt the railroad, and if another 9/11 happens, we have no other interstate transportation system other than cars and busses.  Good idea.

Invasion and Occupation of Iraq, it is going well, and we are training the iraqis to defend themselves.  This is just a lie too, we will be there for the next decade and it will cost us about a trillion dollars.
Luckily, the right wing media does not report this.

A more hopeful Dave

I am so sick of hearing about a ‘more hopeful America’ or signs of hope in the middle east/Isreal.  Quit hoping and start doing.  Hope gets you nowhere in the end.  Actions are what counts.  Stop talking about doing something, and actually do it.  That is what really irks me the most about Bush.  Big words and no actions.

Vote in 2004

Less than a week left until the United States of America voters make a decision on our course to destruction or possibly a new vision.  I don’t know what 50% of America is smoking, but what the hell are you thinking to want to elect that moron?  (I don’t use the term re-elect, since Bush lost the last election.)  Can’t you remember that last 4 years?  2 wars?  3,000 dead citizens?  Over 1,100 soldiers dead?  They crappiest economy in decades?  The only president with a net job loss since Hoover?  Job creation that only results in low paying service jobs?

It makes me sick to think, oh, I will vote for him because he stays on course.  Well, you fricken lemmings, news flash, there is a f’ing cliff ahead.  I know Bush ignores the rest of the world, but nature will take her vengeance big time if we don’t stop screwing around.  We can’t win in Iraq.  I am sorry, we are GOING TO LOSE.  Period.  Get out now before we screw up more.  Our armies are at their limits now.  I don’t know how the numbers add up to avoid re-starting some sort of draft.  I can see it now.   In order to get a student loan, you need to sign up for 2 years.  I bet that is how it will happen.  That way it will exempt the rich kids (again) and really get the middle class involved in the war effort, instead of the lower class.

We need a new start, please, everyone go out and vote on November 2nd.  Send a clear message we want some change.  We need a new vision.  God help us.

Want to be prowd again.

I don’t know about you, but I want to be proud to be an American.  My family has been here for 15 (or more) generations, so I own no allegiance to any other country.  My relatives came over on the Mayflower, fought in the Revolutionary and Civil war.  My ancestors lived though the Great Chicago Fire.  I am an American through and through, but I am not proud to call myself that with the repressive government now in place.  I look at our unelected leader and am ashamed that is the face we present to the world.  I can’t stand that simpleton who can only see the world in black and white and absolutes.  He makes fun of Kerry for wanting to build an alliance with Europe.  Hers is a news flash, you moron, the Euro Dollar is worth more than ours now.  Europe has adapted to high tech manufacturing and services, and we haven’t.  We outsource and send jobs to the far east as fast as we can.  We need a regime change, and I hope of all hopes it happens this November.
