Well, it has been 4 days, but it has finally stopped raining. The lawn looks like a jungle right now.
As you can see, I have been working on the website over the last few days. The colors on the side look pretty cool so far. It looks great in Firefox, Netscape, Konqueror, and Opera. Looks like crap in Internet Explorer and I really don’t care! So, if you want to enjoy my site properly, get a web browser that follows HTML 4.0 properly like any of those mentioned above.

Been sick for the last 4 days.  My nose looks like it has been rubbed with sandpaper.  I was sick for my Birthday, oh joy.
Hope I didn’t get my whole family sick.  Got Tiffany sick as well, so she has more fun on top of her pregnancy.
I was able to work through it Friday, but today I just didn’t have the strength to go into work.  My whole right side hurts like someone kicked me.

Added some new photos to the Images section.  One of the U505 submarine, before it was moved, and one of a little coffee shop I spotted on the way home.
The baby is coming along well.  He either kicks or tickles Tiffany from the inside, depending on his mood.
The Olympics are over, watched about 20 minutes of it total over the last 16 days.  It is good to know that Americans are not the best at everything, just the best at marketing.

It is out of the news now, but I thought it was funny they found ricin in a roll of quarters in some Texas university.  Funny how some new, undefined terrorist scare comes out every time the administration is feeling a lot of heat.  One of those things that makes you go hmmmmmm.

In other world news, Iraq looks like it is spirally down towards something.  I don’t know what.  Either the Iraqis will stand up and form a new government, or it is just going to devolve into a civil war.  I hope not, too many innocent lives have been lost already in this “liberation.”
I feel badly for the Iraqi people.  Decades of dictatorship followed by a foreign occupation force.  Neither seem all that wonderful.
But, my own life is going well.  Did a lot of housework today.  The results look good, just simple stuff around the house.  In less than a week I am turning 32!  Now I do feel old.

Does fast food scare you?  It should.

Just (somehow) get a hold of the nutritional information for a typical fast food joint and prepare to be amazed.
There are shakes that are over 1,200 calories, burgers well over 600, and lets not mention the fries.  Just about every fast food place you go to is a death trap in terms of food health.  There are, perhaps, 10% of thier menu items that don’t exceed the fat/sugar/sodium intake guidlines.
A single typical meal at a McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King, et al is your WHOLE DAY.  Lets take an example:
Big Mac 560 Calories 30 Grams of Fat 47% Daily Value

Large Fries 520 Calories 25 Grams of Fat 38% Daily Value

Apple Pie 250 Calories 11 Grams of Fat 18% Daily Value

Medium Coke 210 Calories, 0 Fat

Lets do the math now, shall we?

1540 Calories, 66 Grams of Fat, 103% of Fat.
Well, that’s it, you are done now.  Hope you are full.  For a typical American, you don’t need 2000 or 2500 calories to live, 1500 is just fine.  Just ask diabetic patients losing weight.  Sick, isn’t it?  You ate your whole day at one meal
As a personal note, my wife and I have been on Weight Watchers for a year now.  She has lost 60Lbs, and I have lost 76Lbs. We stopped eating fast food, and learned what a portion size should be.  I hope the rest of America learns before this generation has a shorter life expectancy than the one before it.
