I am used to having pets, and I not used to how quickly babies learn!
I put a ‘junk’ DVD on the ground, Glenn picked up the DVD, with his other hand he pressed the eject button on my DVD drive, he then proceeded to place the DVD IN THE DRIVE, then CLOSE THE DOOR! After that, he ejected the DVD and tried to pull it out. He wasn’t able to figure it out, so I showed him once how to stick a finger in the center hole and pull it out. He then immediatly pulled out the DVD on his own using the center hole.
He has now removed and inserted the DVD about 5 times in a row now!
On the other hand, he still chews on the disks, so we have a little way to go.
I am glad independence day only comes once a year. It sounds like bombs going off outside. I have pretty sensitive ears, so it is hard to get some sleep. The worst thing is that firecrackers, M80’s, etc. are illegal in Illinois, but not in Indiana, so it sounds like Baghdad out there. I wish they would enforce the laws more strictly.
Glenn is getting better at walking, up to 15 steps at a time now!
In geekier news, anyone buying blank DVD-R media, avoid Windata 1-16X media. It seems to burn data (at slower speeds) reliably, but does NOT play DVD-Video in stand alone DVD players or even in the DVD burner it was burned in! I don’t have detailed specs on the disks, the information encoded on the blank disks is minimal. The worst thing is that is looks like it burns fine, then nothing else can read off the disks. I have a NEC 16X DVD (NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A) burner that has never made a coaster before this batch of disks. I didn’t have any problems with their 8x media, but they were not really 8x disks, the burner read them as 4x disks and they worked fine. I have had no problems with k-hypermedia as well, so I think I will switch back to that brand when these disks are done.
Glenn’s birthday went very well, lots of cool toys for him to play with!
It’s the end of the month, so here are 500+ more Glenn photos!

New Daily Images
One of my few hobbies is digital photography, as if you can’t tell. There is more to life than Glenn Photos, as cute as he is. I actually updated my daily photo page to show a contact sheet of what I have most recently downloaded.
I’ll update that page each day I download photos from my camera. I take walks at lunch almost every day, so you should see an odd variety of photos. Be sure to check out the steel cicada photos. That thing was over 4 feet long!
