So sick

On Friday I was incredibly sick, so gross I really don’t want to describe what I did.  It was just eww.
Unfortunately, little Glenn got what I got and did a repeat performance, baby scale.  I knew he was going to hurl because the look on his face was the same as mine.
Luckily, he looked much better in the morning, and he did sleep through the night.  He ate some waffle this morning and kept it down.  The lunch was not as good.  I think we need to avoid milk for a little while.  He has been drinking the baby electrolyte stuff (basically Gatoraide for babies.)  I wasn’t sick that long, so I hope he does the same, a day of feeling like crap then much better pretty quickly.  Poor little guy, I know what he is going through.

Almost the new year

2007 is almost over.
Highlights are:

  • Got to see Glenn grow up quite a bit. He went from semi-worm state to walking, running, and pseudo talking boy.
  • Celebrated our 5 wedding anniversary. It’s a good milestone to reach.
  • Heath is still pretty good, need to loose more weight.
  • Doubled my watch collection.
  • Tiff is playing a current, modern game system (Nintendo DS Lite).

Lowlights:

  • Still no flying car in my garage.
  • Still no personal robot.
  • Bush and company have not been impeached for war crimes and treason.
  • Gas under $3.00 a gallon is “cheap”

Anniversary Number 5

Had a nice 5th anniversary with Tiffany.  It’s been a heck of a ride so far.  The weather was nicer than when we were married.  I remember it was about a 10 degree high the day we got married.
The Bagel did not disappoint.  Very good burgers and the wait staff was excellent, even during the lunch rush.
The place has not changed much in the last 7 1/2 year or so, when went there on our first official dinner date.

Glenn kept Grammie busy, he was just a ball of energy.  It was nice to get out and do things that are usually very hard to do when he is around.  Going to 10 different stores with him in tow is not easy.

Merry Christmas!

Just got back from the family Christmas get together.
Got lots of really nice gifts.  I will have enough fiction and non fiction to keep me satisfied a while.  I want to learn more about digital photography, so now I have some sources to help me out.  Ron got me an interesting watch/clock book from 1963.  It is like a snapshot in time, just a few years before the quartz revolution in watches.  The White Elephant game was very good to me.  I got an older Nintendo Gameboy DS.  I think I was the only person in the extended Nelson family who did not have a Gameboy DS.
The gifts for Glenn were great.  I was not expecting him to get a little car to use 🙂

I am looking forward to tomorrow, our fifth wedding anniversary!  We are going to the same restaurant we went to on our first date.  I can taste the pickles now.

Merry Christmas Eve

I am sure Tiff will blog about it as well, but Glenn gave us some early Christmas presents.
He did two pretty amazing thing today:

  • In the morning, we asked him “Where do waffles come from?” He walked to the kitchen and pointed at the toaster! We then made him some waffles. We make them fresh, then freeze them. We re-heat them in the toaster. Simple as eggos, but they taste 10 times better. He knew what a waffle was AND he remembered we heated them in the toaster.
  • More remarkable was Tiff was on the floor in the dining room and needed a pillow. She jokingly asked Glenn, “Can you go get Mommy a pillow?” He got up, walked to the living room, got a throw pillow off the couch and walked back to the dining room and gave Mommy a pillow! We were just shocked. He understood a sentence, remembered what a pillow was and where we kept them and understood the grammar enough to actually get a pillow. It was pretty amazing. No pointing on our part, he just did it!

Even though he does not talk much, I think he is understanding A LOT. F*ck, now I have to stop swearing around him.
